The Fair Housing Act and the Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing Rule

This panel will provide a brief history of the Fair Housing Act and related laws. The discussion will focus on the changing landscape for local agencies associated with the obligation to affirmatively further fair housing, and how the interpretation of applicable rules and priorities are changing under the current administration.  Additionally, the panel will discuss what is expected to fierce litigation associated with those changes, and what that may mean for local government.
