Collaborating for Change: The West LA Veterans Campus Transformation and Its Impact on Veteran Homelessness

The West Los Angeles Veterans Administration Campus, established in 1887, stands as a historic sanctuary and home for military Veterans in the heart of our city. Today, the North Campus is undergoing a renovation and rehabilitation under the leadership of the West LA Veterans Collective, with a mission to create a cohesive and supportive community and neighborhood for nearly 1,700 homeless Veterans and their families.

In this session, a panel of key leaders from Gensler, US Vets, Thomas Safran & Associates, Century Housing Corporation, and City Fabrik will share the story behind this unique redevelopment. The panel will explore the origins of the project, the collaboration with the federal VA, and the journey to bring this privately-led initiative to life. Attendees will gain valuable insights into the ongoing efforts to end Veteran homelessness and the visionary future of a campus that has become a very visible lightning rod in the universal challenge of ending homelessness in Los Angeles.
